She was a singer, actress, co-wrote a story Queenie's Daughter, and wrote her own story Anancy & Pandora, she was a writer, educator, and she was a major proponent of the US American Language. She was born on September 7, 1919, and she died on July 6, 2006. She was Called Miss Lou for short. I asked Miss Lou a few questions about herself. My first question was "Did your co-wrote story win any awards?" She replied "Yes, it won the 'Book Sense Paperback of the Year' in 2004." My second question was "Where was your birth place?" Miss Lou "I was born in Jamaica, moved to Canada for a while, then moved back to Jamaica." My third question was "What did people in Jamaica think of you as?" Miss Lou "They thought of me as a 'Living Legend' and a cultural icon." My fourth question was "What were your poems like towards your readers?" Miss Lou "Well I tried to capture their joys and sorrows in all of my poems, also their ready and religion." My fifth question was "What was your greatest accomplishment(s)?" Miss Lou "I would say, being appointed Cultural Ambassador at Large for Jamaica." It was a real joy to interview Miss Lou. She was a fantastic woman and I learned a lot about her.
