Negril is a very popular city in Jamaica, It is on the West Coast of Jamaica. A great place to visit is Negril,which is actually also a Hotel on the Negril Beach. The name Negril is a shortened name of "Negrillo" was named by the Spanish in 1494. The name came from the black hills south of Negril. The development of the Negril Resort was started in the late 1950's. Negril Resort is built between two other cities Westmoreland and Hanover. It was built for families or couples to come and relax, It is family friendly and there is lots to do while you're there. The reason I believe you should go there is because it is a beautiful place and there is the most wonderful and relaxing beach I have ever been to! Some of the things to do at the hotel are, relax on the beach, swim in the pool, play some golf or tennis, or eat at one of their delicious restaurant! The Peter Tosh Monument is located in Bluefields, Negril. The monument was named after a man who was a very famous musician who was said to have one of the most powerful voices ever. The monument is near Peter's home, where he was murdered. He was very respected by the people. It is a place where people can just relax and admire his monument. The monument was also built in Peter's memory, the people like to keep his spirit alive. I urge you to go here because it's so quiet and peaceful, it's a great place to go to relax but learn at the same time! Rhodes Hall Plantation is a family fun place to go, it is located also in Negril. It is named for the British Mercantile. It is rated #2 out of 21 sites in Negril. It has been around since the 1700's. It is a wonderful, and historic place. You can take horseback rides, tour around the area, and go in a group tour. Everyone there was very friendly and knowledgeable. I learned a lot about the British Mercantile while I was there, along with many other things. It has been built for people to have fun riding the horses, and touring, but not just for that, but to learn about the Rhode Hall Plantation's past. I really urge you to go to this site!
